About this Land

Please take the time before you read any further to understand this property is located in a remote portion of rural Alaska: The Last Frontier, The Wild Wild West. There will be no nearby market, 7-11, Gas station, Liquor store, and no beauty salon. This is not a place to move a family of 5. There are animals here that can ruin your day quite quickly if you are not prepared with the right equipment and that includes high powered rifles, handguns and knives. Your neighbors will be caribou, moose, and bears. You are not going to drive there in a Toyota Prius. You are not going to be able to get all the way to your property with a 4X4 vehicle although you will be able to get part way there with a 4X4 and then finish with an all terrain vehicle, snow mobile or snow cat. You might have to cross a stream or two. You can also Snow Cat to your land in the winter. You can build a cabin over time with the timber on the land if you wish or bring in building supplies over time as others have done to build. Access to the property is from Chelan Hot Springs Road, to Grange Hall Road. There are a number of ATV trails in the area but there is not a direct road to the property that is accessible with a Prius. The property is located less than 3.5 miles from Pleasant Valley and just over 30 miles to Fairbanks, just under an hour drive in ideal conditions.
There are great views of Mt. McKinley and the world-famous Aurora Borealis (northern lights). Fairbanks Alaska is considered one of the best places to see the Northern Lights in the world. Fairbanks is located inside the Aural Oval, which hovers over the North Pole, which greatly increases the chance to see the Northern Lights. The Aurora season is typically from August 21st through April 21st.

Fairbanks has a long list of great activities available, including the Fountainhead Antique Car Museum, Running Reindeer Ranch, University of Alaska Museum of the North, University of Alaska Fairbanks, Chena River State Recreation Area, Angel Rocks Trail, HooDoo Brewery, Aurora Ice Museum, Palace Theater, Black Spruce Dog Sledding, Antler Arch and the list goes on and on.
