About this Land

This 9.94 acre property is located on Bear Lake, only 14 miles from Mt. Redoubt, the highest summit in the Aleutian range, which makes for a wonderful view. This is a unique property on Bear Lake and frontage along a smaller pond. The property is mostly tree covered and there are only a handful of cabins currently on the Lake. Would make a great wilderness retreat property. Please take the time before you read any further to understand this property is in a remote portion of rural Alaska: The Last Frontier, The Wild Wild West. There will be no nearby market, 7-11, gas station, Liquor store, and no beauty salon. There are animals here that can ruin your day quite quickly if you are not prepared with the right equipment and that includes high powered rifles, handguns and knives. Your neighbors will be caribou, moose, and bears. You are not going to drive there in a Toyota Prius. This subdivision is located approximately 100 air miles southwest of Anchorage and 60 air miles northwest of Homer Alaksa near Kalgin Island.

Access is by plane to Bear Lake. Currently we are not aware a land route to the property but it is on proximity to the Cook Inlet and Harriet Creek. You can build a cabin over time with the timber on the land if you wish or bring in building supplies over time as others have done to build. There are great views and the world-famous Aurora Borealis(northern lights). Fairbanks Alaska is considered one of the best places to see the Northern Lights in the world. Fairbanks is located inside the Aural Oval, which hovers over the North Pole, which greatly increases the chance to see the Northern Lights. The Aurora season is typically from August 21st through April 21st.

This lot would be perfect for the outdoorsman, avid fisherman, hunter or social distancer, as there are no nearby roads and currently few cabins in the area. There is some amazing fishing in the area, you can catch king salmon, silver salmon, pink salmon, rainbow trout, northern pike, arctic grayling, or even try bowfishing, ice fishing. Property taxes are approximately $100 annually and subject to change.
