About this Land
This 4.87 acre property is located near the Susitna River, Derf Lake and Alexander Creek on the corner of West Stratton Circle and South Fouler Drive (currently undeveloped). Please take the time before you read any further to understand this property is in a remote portion of rural Alaska: The Last Frontier, The Wild Wild West. There will be no nearby market, 7-11, gas station, Liquor store, and no beauty salon. There are animals here that can ruin your day quite quickly if you are not prepared with the right equipment and that includes high powered rifles, handguns and knives. Your neighbors will be caribou, moose, and bears. You are not going to drive there in a Toyota Prius. This subdivision is located approximately 35 air miles northwest of Anchorage and 6 miles due west of the confluence of the Yentna and Susitna Rivers.
Access is by plane to one of the lakes in the subdivision or via snow machine or ATV along trails or across general state land from the Susitna River. There is a airstrip one lot away from the property for access but the current condition is unknown. This property would be perfect for accessing the Susitna River and Alexander Creek for great fishing. The pictures provided are of the area and not the specific property. Make sure to do your research before attempting to reach the property. You can build a cabin over time with the timber on the land if you wish or bring in building supplies over time as others have done to build. Property is northwesterly of Anchorage and south of Mt. McKinley and Fairbanks. There are great views and the world-famous Aurora Borealis(northern lights). Fairbanks Alaska is considered one of the best places to see the Northern Lights in the world. Fairbanks is located inside the Aural Oval, which hovers over the North Pole, which greatly increases the chance to see the Northern Lights. The Aurora season is typically from August 21st through April21 st.
This lot would be perfect for the outdoorsman, avid fisherman, hunter or social distancer, as there are no nearby roads and currently few cabins in the area. Less than a mile from Alexander Creek. There is some amazing fishing in the area, you can catch king salmon, silver salmon, pink salmon, rainbow trout, northern pike, arctic grayling, or even try bowfishing, ice fishing. While only 35 air miles from Anchorage, this property is in an isolated area with no utilities. The property taxes are approximately $50 and subject to change.
