About this Land

4.801 acres of Alaskan wilderness for sale near Dune Lake, famous for its great rainbow trout fishing. The property is located off of Fain Way, currently undeveloped. The property is located in the Yukon-Koyukuk Census area, the largest county equivalent in the United States. The pictures are of the general area and not the specific property. The property is not lake front but has deeded access to the lake and the public lands that surround the area. Please inspect property prior to purchase to ensure it meets your desired use. Dune lake is located about 26 miles south west of Nenana as the crow flies. The lake is stocked with rainbow trout, artic graylings and coho salmon. The lake itself is about 212 acres with the deepest part being close to 30 feet deep. This land would be a great summertime fishing camp or just a fun retreat to get away from the hustle of modern day living. Access would be by snow machine on a 38 mile trail or bush plane. You could also hike in to the lake. Parcels like this are rare and do not last long. Please take the time before you read any further to understand this property is located in a remote portion of rural Alaska: The Last Frontier, The Wild Wild West. There will be no nearby market, 7-11, Gas station, Liquor store, and no beauty salon. There are animals here that can ruin your day quite quickly if you are not prepared with the right equipment and that includes high powered rifles, handguns and knives. Your neighbors will be caribou, moose, and bears. You are not going to drive there in a Toyota Prius. You can build a cabin over time with the timber on the land if you wish or bring in building supplies over time. There are great views of Mt. McKinley and the world-famous Aurora Borealis (northern lights). Fairbanks Alaska is considered one of the best places to see the Northern Lights in the world. Fairbanks is located inside the Aural Oval, which hovers over the North Pole, which greatly increases the chance to see the Northern Lights. The Aurora season is typically from August 21st through April 21st. Access is by ATV, snow machine or air taxi. There are no additional directions or navigation available at this time. Please properly prepare for the trip with adequate maps and supplies. There are no utilities to the property, as is the case with nearly all Alaska property outside city limits. There are no time limits to build your cabin. There are currently no property taxes on the property but that is subject to change.
