What are some of the largest fish ever caught in Alaska?

We get this question a lot.  I'm thinking about buying land in Alaska and what are some of the biggest fish caught and where?

Here are the 10 largest fish ever caught in Alaska:

1.Pacific Halibut: 459 pounds, caught in Unalaska Bay in 1996.

2.White Sturgeon: 401 pounds, caught in the Kenai River in 1987.

3.Chinook Salmon: 97 pounds, caught in the Kenai River in 1985.

4.Lingcod: 81 pounds, caught near Kodiak Island in 2007.

5.Yelloweye Rockfish: 38 pounds, caught in Sitka Sound in 2004.

6.Sockeye Salmon: 16.4 pounds, caught in the Kvichak River in 1993.

7.Rainbow Trout: 42 pounds, caught in the Kenai River in 1985.

8.Arctic Char: 32 pounds, caught in the Kobuk River in 2014.

9.Coho Salmon: 26 pounds, caught in the Tsiu River in 1986.

10.Dolly Varden: 27 pounds, caught in the Kenai River in 2009.

It's important to note that fishing regulations and catch limits vary depending on the species of fish and the location of the catch, and some of these catches may not have been made under current regulations. Catch-and-release fishing is also becoming increasingly popular in Alaska as a way to conserve fish populations.
